Morrison appoints Geraldine Buckingham as Board Director

Morrison & Co has appointed Geraldine Buckingham as a Non-Executive Director, from April, as the firm continues to grow its presence in North America, the UK and Europe.

Geraldine joins the Morrison & Co Board following a distinguished executive career in funds management and financial services. She spent seven years at global investment manager, BlackRock, where her most recent executive role was Chair of Asia Pacific. In this position, she oversaw all business activities across China, Japan, Australia, Singapore, India and Korea. Immediately following this role, she acted as senior adviser to Larry Fink, BlackRock’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, until she retired at the end of 2021. She previously held roles including Global Head of Corporate Strategy at BlackRock and Partner with McKinsey & Company’s financial services practice based in New York.

Geraldine holds current positions as Independent Non-Executive Director at HSBC Holdings plc and Non-Executive Director of Brunswick Group Partnership Limited. She is also a member of the Advisory Board of Climateworks Australia.

About Geraldine Buckingham

Geraldine most recently worked at BlackRock, holding executive roles including Chair and Head of Asia Pacific, overseeing all business activities across China, Japan, Australia, Singapore, India and Korea. Immediately following this role, she was a senior adviser to Larry Fink, BlackRock's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, until she retired at the end of 2021. She had previously held roles as Global Head of Corporate Strategy at BlackRock and was a partner with McKinsey & Company's financial services practice based in New York. 

Geraldine is currently a non-executive director of HSBC Holdings plc and Brunswick Group Partnership Limited. She is a member of the Advisory Board of Climateworks Australia, a non-profit organisation that develops independent, evidence-based solutions to assist the transition to net zero emissions across Australia, south-east Asia and the Pacific. 

Geraldine received the Rhodes scholarship to study at Oxford University, where she earned a Master of Philosophy in Comparative Social Policy. She also holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from Monash University. In 2017, she was listed in Fortune Magazine and Crain’s New York Business’ “40 Under 40”.
