Morrison appoints Perry Offutt to lead North America business

Morrison has appointed Perry Offutt as Head of North America, effective mid-October, strengthening its representation in the region.

Mr Offutt brings more than 20 years of extensive infrastructure investment and industry experience, particularly in deal origination and execution, with a strong track record of success.

Announcing the appointment, Morrison & Co's CEO Marko Bogoievski said, "Perry's deep knowledge of the infrastructure markets, his experience in the renewables and digital sectors, and his considerable transaction experience are a great fit for our ambitious firm."

Mr Smales, who is a member of the firm’s investment and management committees and a recognized thought leader in digital infrastructure investment, chose to base his global investment role from New York in August this year reaffirming Morrison & Co’s commitment to its international growth strategy.

Mr Offutt joins Morrison & Co from UBS Asset Management, where he most recently held the role of Managing Director, Head of Infrastructure Americas.  Prior to this, he worked at Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets where he was Managing Director on the North American investment team and at Morgan Stanley, where he was Head of Infrastructure Banking for the Americas.

Morrison & Co has been investing in US renewable energy markets since 2016 and opened its New York office in 2020 to expand its presence in North America, and build on three decades of successful infrastructure investment globally.

Morrison & Co's US portfolio includes investments in renewable energy business, Longroad Energy and Clearvision Ventures, an infra-tech fund. The firm is actively growing its US investment portfolio by leveraging its key investment themes of decarbonization, data and connectivity, and social infrastructure.  

About Perry Offutt

Perry has more than 20 years of infrastructure investment and industry experience, particularly in deal origination and execution, having worked on upwards of US$100 billion of transactions.  

He joins Morrison & Co from UBS Asset Management, where he was Head of Infrastructure Americas, a business within Real Estate and Private Markets.  In this role, he led the Americas business to originate and manage direct equity investments in infrastructure and was a member of the Infrastructure Management Committee.

Prior to UBS Asset Management, Perry worked at Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets ('MIRA') where he served as Managing Director on the North American investment team.  He joined MIRA from Morgan Stanley where he was Head of Infrastructure Banking for the Americas, originating and executing infrastructure transactions across various industries, including power, utilities and transportation.

Perry has served on the Boards of Northern Star Generation, Ports America, Aquarion Water Company and GFL Environmental.  He has a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Duke University, and an MBA in Finance from the Wharton School of Business.
